Iran can be a clear and obvious symbol of peaceful cooperation and coexistence between followers of different religions, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said a joint press conference at the Saadabad Cultural and Historical Complex following talks with the Iranian president, MiranPress reported.

"I provided Mr. Raisi with information about yesterday's trilateral meeting in Sochi and I agree with the Iranian president's views on establishing lasting peace and security in the region," Pashinyan said.

The Armenian PM agreed with the Iranian president that lasting peace and security are necessary for the South Caucasus region. The Armenian PM said Tehran must be aware of the issues being discussed at the talks, as well as Armenia's relations with Azerbaijan and Turkey in the context of the Nagorno-Karabakh issue.

The talks between the two leaders will be followed by negotiations between the delegations.
