Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received Arin Karapet, Swedish MP and chairman of Sweden-Armenia Friendship Group, who is of Armenian descent, arriving in Yerevan to participate in the first World Armenian Summit. The prime minister's press service reported.

The Prime Minister welcomed Mr. Karapet's visit to Armenia and his continuing ties with the homeland.

Nikol Pashinyan noted the importance of developing Armenian-Swedish inter-parliamentary and inter-governmental relations, including in the economic sphere, promoting Armenia's democratic agenda and other areas. In this regard, the necessity of organizing high-level reciprocal visits was stressed.

Arin Karapet first shared his impressions on the first Armenian World Summit and mentioned with satisfaction the effective work and discussions. The deputy of the Swedish Parliament highlighted the establishment and strengthening of the ties between the Armenian deputies of different countries, which would promote the pro-Armenian activities abroad.

The active work of Sweden-Armenia friendship group and the implementation of the steps directed to the organization of air communication between two countries were highlighted.

A number of issues related to the expansion of the cooperation between the two countries in various spheres were discussed. The sides discussed strengthening Armenia-Diaspora relations and the possibilities of making the first World Armenian Summit an annual event.
