YEREVAN. – President Vahagn Khachaturyan received John Gallagher, Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Armenia, the President's Office informs Armenian News-NEWS.am.

First, the President congratulated the ambassador on the election of the new prime minister of the UK, and expressed hope that the formation of the new UK government will contribute to the establishment of stability in domestic politics in the country.

During the meeting, they reflected on the topics on the agenda of the  27th annual Conference of the Parties of the U.N. Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP27), which will be held in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, soon. Also, the President, at the ambassador's request, presented Armenia's expectations from and positions on COP27, and emphasized that Armenia is committed to the implementation of the respective agreements it has signed with international partners.

Ambassador Gallagher, for his part, stressed that the UK is always ready to support Armenia in the implementation of reforms in green economy, modernization of agriculture, and related domains.

In addition, the interlocutors agreed to continue cooperation and close contacts.
