Yerevan has received a proposal to hold interparliamentary talks between Russia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan. Tsovinar Khachatryan, spokesperson of the National Assembly (NA) speaker, informed about this to Armenian News-NEWS.am.
Khachatryan noted that the proposal was made by the chairman of the Russian State Duma, Vyacheslav Volodin, during NA speaker Alen Simonyan's visit to Russia.
"Alen Simonyan gave a positive answer. But it is only a proposal; the format of the meeting has not been discussed yet," added Khachatryan.
She recalled the recent tripartite meeting of the leaders of Russia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan in Sochi, Russia, and the statement issued at that time. Khachatryan noted that it is very important for Armenia that the provisions of this statement are implemented.
"Only after their implementation can we talk about the contacts of representatives of other spheres, including in the interparliamentary format," she added.
