The results of the examination have already been confirmed in the case of five of the ten bodies of Armenian detainees transferred from Azerbaijan to the Armenian side, the examination of the others are in progress, and the minister of health will provide additional information when they will be completed. Health minister Anahit Avanesyan informed about this to reporters at the National Assembly Friday.
Referring to the fact that even after the 44-day war in 2020, there were bodies with which examinations were carried out, Avanesyan said: "That process is completely finished. The entire process of examinations, identifications sent abroad is documented. Of course, we have cases when the identified bodies [of the fallen Armenian soldiers] were not accepted, were not buried by the parents. This is a very delicate topic; and the more time passes, the more difficult the process becomes."
Also, she noted that the Armenian government has an obligation to bury those bodies.
"After working with the [fallen servicemen’s] parents, relatives in one more course, we will make joint commission decisions to carry out the funerals. We have to take into account both spiritual and sanitary-hygienic issues, and many other nuances that cannot be resolved for years," the health minister emphasized.
On October 27, Azerbaijan had returned the bodies of ten Armenian fallen soldiers to Armenia.
