Germany and eight other EU member states are planning to expand sanctions against Iran, Der Spiegel magazine reported, without disclosing its sources.

A package containing 31 proposals targeting individuals and security institutions as well as companies responsible for suppressing protests" in Iran was revealed in Brussels on Wednesday.

The measures include an asset freeze and a travel ban, and the package has a good chance of being approved by EU foreign ministers at their next meeting on November 14, the source said.
