Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said that his country is ready to defend its national interests, not only through diplomacy. He said this at a meeting with the public of the Mangistau region of the republic.

"We are ready to defend our sacred independence. I have already said that we are ready to defend our national interests not only through diplomacy, but also from a tougher position. And this is our firm position," the Kazakh leader noted.

The President added that in recent months, hackers are actively attacking information systems of Kazakhstan. According to him, these attacks became especially more frequent during the current political campaign. Tokayev said that cyber attacks will be harshly suppressed, including a ban on the dissemination of disinformation.

The politician added that stability and security in Kazakhstan, in addition to the foreign policy agenda, is also greatly influenced by the internal situation.

"As long as there are those in our country and outside it who sow discord and enmity, we cannot be careless," Tokayev said.
