On the eve of the September aggression, Azerbaijan did not prepare for the information component of the aggression, there were no serious cyber-attacks or propaganda information flows, information security expert Samvel Martirosyan told NEWS.am.

According to his assessment, Azerbaijan was counting on quick actions and quick stop, but did not count on an unexpectedly harsh attitude from the international community.

"Compared to what happened during the 44-day war, when there was a very serious work on the part of Azerbaijan and Turkey, this time their unpreparedness was clearly felt. This applies both to propaganda and cyber attacks. This time, Azerbaijan failed in the information component of the aggression.

The only thing they did was to prepare the ground before the armed aggression, constantly announcing provocations from the Armenian side.

In terms of information, Azerbaijan was counting on the fact that the world community is busy with Ukraine, as well as on the fact that Armenia's direct allies have long been extremely sluggish to any aggressive actions against Armenia," Martirosyan noted.

The Azerbaijani Armed Forces initiated intensive shelling of Armenian positions from September 13-14 with artillery and large-caliber small arms in the direction of Goris, Sotk and Jermuk. The enemy also used UAVs. Azerbaijan also used artillery in other directions. According to the official data the number of casualties from the Armenian side exceeds 200 people. As a result of the enemy aggression civilians suffered and more than 200 civil objects were destroyed. Several thousands of citizens left their homes.
