The resolutions of the UN Security Council do not say that Karabakh's separation is illegal, Former judge of the Constitutional Court of Armenia and European Court of Human Rights Alvina Gyulumyan said on Wednesday.

According to her, even if the Armenian authorities go to change the preamble of the Constitution, it does not deprive Armenia of the right to refer to it in the future. "Our neighbors think that changing the preamble can hinder us. But the preamble of even an inoperative Constitution can play a role," Gyulumyan added.

The preamble of the Armenian Constitution refers to the Declaration of Independence. According to the Declaration, Armenia stands for international recognition of the 1915 Armenian Genocide in Ottoman Turkey and Western Armenia and pursues an independent foreign policy, establishing direct relations with other states, national-state formations of the Soviet Union and is the guarantor of security of the people of Nagorno-Karabakh.
