In Balkh province in Afghanistan, the Taliban's virtue representative, Mullah Yassin, killed a minor girl after she refused to marry him, The Khaama Press reports.
Local authorities say the man has been detained and is in custody. The identity and age of the teenager was not disclosed. The man himself, meanwhile, insisted that men refrain from having more than one wife.
The tragedy occurred amid reports that the Taliban pay significant amounts of dowry to their in-laws in exchange for their daughters. The publication notes that a Taliban soldier recently flew his bride home in a military helicopter belonging to the Afghan National Government.
