It is very important to first understand the content on which Azerbaijan is trying to build a premise for a new escalation, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan told Public TV of Armenia on Friday.

"I think that the best way to do that is to make an inventory and clarify those agreements that Azerbaijan is trying to accuse us of not implementing," he said. "We are talking about those agreements which are recorded in writing, because even if there can be oral discussions, they must be expressed in one way or another in the texts which are published as a result of discussions at the highest level.

"Consequently, my remarks yesterday were about trying to take an inventory of what agreements there are? Yesterday's statement served its purpose, as today the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry issued a statement accusing us of disrupting the process of establishing communication between Azerbaijan and Nakhichevan. This is important because although the President of Azerbaijan constantly talks about a corridor, the Foreign Ministry no longer uses the word "corridor".

Both for us, for Azerbaijan, and for the international community, it should be properly presented what the agreements are, and who is really not implementing them? The purpose of this is by no means to initiate a war of words and a new escalation. The goal is to take stock and implement the agreements," Pashinyan said.

Touching upon the topic of opening of communication channels, the Prime Minister said that there are no obstacles for establishing contact between Azerbaijan and Nakhijevan, the only barrier is the position of the Azerbaijani authorities. "We say that we will open all the roads, there is no wording in the trilateral statement, not a single sentence from which it follows that these roads should not act according to the Armenian legislation. Of course, they should act under Armenian law if they are on our territory," he concluded.
