Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan says there are concerns, but there are also market realities. If the government makes unnecessary interventions related to the exchange rate, Armenia's economy will only suffer and lose, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan told Armenia's first Public TV Channel on Friday, noting that exporting industries incur heavy losses due to the strengthening of the dram.

"Yes, we are aware of these concerns, and our economic team, including Central Bank experts, are constantly discussing them. I think we are pursuing the right economic policies, and the result of those policies is the unprecedented economic growth that Armenia has.

But I'm not saying we shouldn't listen to signals from businessmen. We should listen to them, analyze them and if there is an objective problem, we should respond with the right tools. Armenia should by no means interfere with exchange rate and monetary policy of the Central Bank. Otherwise we will lose our status of a country with market economy," he said.

Answering the question whether the citizens will feel this economic growth, the Prime Minister said: "The citizens are feeling this growth today. Of course, we have problems with inflation, but international reports already say that inflation in Armenia is the lowest or one of the lowest in the region."
