Chancellor of Germany Olaf Scholz spoke out against a ceasefire in Ukraine on Kremlin’s terms, DW reported.
The accompanying statement was made by the head of the German government on Friday during the podium discussion “RND vor Ort” in Leipzig (Saxony), organized by the media group Redaktions Netzwerk Deutschland (RND).
“First of all, Russia needs to understand that the idea of a world under dictation will lead nowhere, and you can’t just draw a felt-tip pen over the map and say: ‘This is mine now,’” the German chancellor said.
“We all want this war to end and peace to be possible,” Scholz added.
Also the German chancellor recalled that he had not interrupted his telephone contacts with the Russian leader.
He added that relevant consultations have also been held with the Ukrainian side.
