Armenian Foreign Minister received Tuesday the delegation of EU special envoys and EU member states on Eastern Partnership issues.
During the meeting, Mirzoyan presented the reforms implemented by the Armenian government in various spheres, as well as steps undertaken towards promoting democracy, protecting human rights and strengthening the rule of law, MFA press service informed Armenian News-NEWS.am.
Issues related to Armenian-EU bilateral agenda and the process of implementing the Armenia-EU comprehensive and enlarged partnership agreement were discussed.
Noting that there is a high-level political dialogue with the EU based on common values, Mirzoyan noted the importance of developing multidimensional cooperation with the European Union through continuous and practical steps. The sides exchanged views on the activities and significance of the EU observation mission in Armenia.
The Armenian Minister of Foreign Affairs presented to his interlocutors the consequences of the September 13-14 Azerbaijani aggression, the position of the Armenian side on the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan and the settlement of the Karabakh issue. He stressed that Azerbaijan's maximalist approaches continue to hinder the establishment of peace and stability in the region.
During the meeting they also discussed issues regarding demarcation processes and border security, regional economic ties and the unblocking of transport infrastructures.
