Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received the delegation of EU special envoys and EU member states on Eastern Partnership, the Armenian government told Armenian News-NEWS.am.
Pashinyan welcomed the delegation's visit to Armenia and stressed the importance of the ongoing development of cooperation between Armenia and the EU.
He also recalled the reforms implemented in Armenia within the framework of the Eastern Partnership. In particular it is about the development of democracy, justice, economy and so on. According to Prime Minister, their promotion agenda is one of the key priorities of the Government of the Republic. The Prime Minister also highlighted the effective implementation of the 2.6 billion euro economic and investment package announced by the EU for Armenia.
Expansion of the cooperation between Armenia and the EU was also emphasized. This particularly refers to economy, trade, investments, energy and other spheres. Pashinyan added that Armenia holds 11th place in the global index of economic freedom among 165 countries.
The Prime Minister presented the interlocutors the position and observations of the Armenian side on the Nagorno-Karabakh issue and the settlement of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan. The activities of the EU observation mission in Armenia were highlighted, and its role in strengthening stability and security was emphasized.
Thoughts were also exchanged over the delimitation and security of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border. The ongoing processes in the region and the Armenian-Turkish dialogue were also discussed.
