Armenia's current position on Karabakh is what the opposition demanded, so if the opposition believes that Russia's proposals should be rejected, it would be right to state it loudly, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said during the discussion of the 2023 state budget draft in the parliament on Wednesday.
According to him, the statement made by Russian President at the Valdai Club was very important in order to clarify certain issues and to fix that, at least, there is a consensus on these approaches in the Armenian political field. He recalled that it was about the attitude of the Armenian government toward Russia's proposals, and the essence of that proposal was to postpone the issue of Nagorno-Karabakh's status indefinitely. "At the time when this question was asked about the Russian proposals, the Government reacted very quickly, but both in the opposition field and in Nagorno-Karabakh there were statements demanding that the authorities accept the Russian proposals. The government has already accepted these agreements from January 2021 and did not talk about them on the basis of correctness," Pashinyan added.
