Turkey's relations with Israel have entered a new phase of development, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said during a telephone conversation with Likud Party leader Benjamin Netanyahu, who received a mandate to form the Israeli cabinet, Anadolu news agency reported.

Netanyahu offered his condolences to the Turkish leader in connection with the terrorist attack in Istanbul. Referring to the situation in the region, the Israeli politician called Turkey's mediation efforts on Russia and Ukraine "significant for the whole world."

Erdogan thanked Netanyahu for his condolences and, for his part, expressed regret over the incident two days ago in the West Bank. He noted that thanks to the determination and will of the parties, Turkey-Israel relations have entered a new phase of development. Erdoğan stressed that Turkey and Israel's progressive dialogue, which is based on mutual respect for mutual interests, is in line with the positions of both countries. He expressed hope that the results of the Knesset elections will have a positive impact on both Israel and the region as a whole.
