Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Garibashvili once again accused the opposition of its plans to "open a second front in Georgia" after Russia started a war in Ukraine.

At the same time, he said that some of the opposition in Georgia was acting on the instructions of the Ukrainian leadership. "They asked me to charter planes and send volunteers there (to Ukraine) to fight. Permission for this had to be given by the state. It was an attempt to start a direct war ... it was calculated that Russia would react and open a second front," Garibashvili said, News-Georgia reports.

According to him, if "partners and allies of the Ukrainian government" were in power in Georgia today, they would "turn the country into a firing range," destroy the country and eventually surrender to Russia.

At the same time, said the prime minister, the opposition was counting on social protests and revolution.
