Azerbaijan has been actively making efforts to terrorize the peaceful population and break the 'normal' course of life along the Azerbaijani-Artsakh line of contact in recent days. This is stated in a statement issued by the Public Prosecutor's Office of Artsakh.
The statement particularly reads:
"Targeted fire from various types of firearms is fired at people performing agricultural work on the agricultural lands adjacent to the line of contact, agricultural equipment is damaged, people are forced to stop work related to cultivating the land or harvesting. There was even a recorded case when armed Azerbaijani soldiers approached the citizens of Artsakh working in the orchards and, at gunpoint, demanded them to stop working and leave the territory.
Today the Azerbaijani side once again opened fire with different kinds of firearms, this time in the administrative territory of the village of Khatsi of the Martuni region, at the people who were carrying out agricultural works. A tractor was damaged. And in the area of Taghavard, the enemy was broadcasting loud music of religious and ceremonial nature. All the mentioned criminal cases are registered and processed by the law enforcement agencies of the Republic of Artsakh, in accordance with the procedure prescribed by the criminal procedural legislation.
The Karabakh prosecutor's office immediately informs the prosecutor of the peacekeeping mission in Artsakh about these cases. Every time, the Azerbaijani side is advised to adhere to the agreement reached between the chief prosecutors of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan and conduct proper investigation in order to bring the perpetrators of such acts to justice, but these appeals always remain unanswered.
Azerbaijan should at least bring the perpetrators of such acts to criminal responsibility, but not only are no steps taken in this direction, but open, deliberate inaction encourages Armenianphobia and its manifestations".
