At least 32 people have been killed in a Turkish Air Force strike on territories in northern Iraq and Syria. This was reported by Shafaq News on Sunday, citing the regional counter-terrorism directorate in Iraqi Kurdistan.
According to the report, the Turkish Air Force carried out over 25 strikes in northern Iraq and Syria, targeting the bases and headquarters of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) and the "Popular Self-Defense Forces" group. At least 32 people were killed in these attacks and several others were wounded. The exact number of casualties as a result of the Turkish air force strikes is not given, TASS reports.
Earlier on Sunday, the Kurdish news agency Firat reported that three members of the Syrian armed forces were killed in a Turkish air force strike on the province of Hasakeh in the northeast of the country. Several people, including an officer, were injured. The Syrian news agency SANA confirmed, citing an army source, that several soldiers were killed in the Turkish attack in Aleppo and Hasakeh provinces, their number was not specified.
The Turkish Defense Ministry said the Turkish army's "air operation" carried out on Sunday night in northern Iraq and Syria destroyed 89 targets.
All of the aircraft involved in the operation returned without losses to their permanent bases, the statement said.
