Changing the current authorities in Ukraine is not the goal of Russia's special military operation. Dmitry Peskov, press secretary of the Russian President, told reporters on Monday, TASS reported.

"The [Russian] president has already spoken about it," said the representative of the Kremlin, answering the question whether changing the regime of incumbent Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is one of the goals of the special military operation.

Peskov said that Moscow wants to achieve its goals during the special military operation in Ukraine.

This is how he interpreted the words of Ukrainian President Zelenskyy that Moscow is allegedly not trying to negotiate with Kyiv, but wants to achieve a short-term "cease" in hostilities.

"Russia wants to achieve its goals, and it is achieving them," the representative of the Kremlin emphasized.
