YEREVAN. – Oppositional Armenian National Congress (ANC) young activists in Yerevan downtown held demonstration for the protection of the ANC activist Tigran Arakelyan. The participants of the demonstration demanded immediate release for Arakelyan.

The demonstration started from the ANC office and reached to the Liberty Square. The participants had posters with “I love freedom,” “Freedom to Arakelyan", “Struggle, Struggle, till the end.”

Tigran Arakelyan and six other ANC activists were arrested on August 9 as a result of the incident with police. All the arrested were released, except Arakelyan. His arrest and authorities’ unwillingness to release served for the base to suspend authorities-ANC dialogue.
