YEREVAN. - Opening of a new building of the Matenadaran, Mesrop Mashtots Institute of Ancient Manuscripts, is scheduled for September 20, advisor to the Institute’s director Gurgen Gasparyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Gasparyan said the building is equipped with up-to-date security system and conditions to preserve necessary temperature.

“The building will be used for research work, storing manuscripts, archives, digitizing the documents and holding conferences,” he said.

He stressed that only equipment of conference hall is worth $ 40,000. The total cost of the building is $14 million.  Chief architect is Arthur Meschyan.
