YEREVAN. – Western states that neglected violations during the 2008 presidential elections, now teach Armenia democracy and lawfulness, oppositional Armenian National Congress (ANC) leader Levon Ter-Petrosyan told at the rally on Friday in Yerevan.

According to him, ODIHR/OSCE mission representatives that observed the presidential elections in February, 2008, stated they did not meet democratic standards. However, the outcome was dictated by the OSCE states, which had their political interests.

“I will bring one proof: head of the ODIHR mission Geert-Hinrich Ahrens several times called his boss during one of the hearings to finalize the text of the mission. The West apparently is focused on geopolitical consideration. Thus, people of such morale state want to teach Armenia democracy and lawfulness,” Ter-Petrosyan stated and added that U.S. has already learnt that Armenia had no president.
