Seyran Ohanyan, head of the opposition "Armenia" Faction of the National Assembly (NA) and former defense minister of Armenia, has been charged. This information was confirmed by the Prosecutor General’s Office in an interview with Armenian News-NEWS.am.

Ohanyan is accused of using his official position to commit particularly large amounts of squandering, as well as due to other personal interests and group interests, using his official position against the interests of the service, which carelessly caused serious consequences.

On February 8, the NA gave consent to initiate criminal prosecution against Ohanyan—and based on the respective petitions submitted by the Prosecutor General.
