Prosecutor General Anna Vardapetyan has decided to initiate a public criminal prosecution against opposition MP Armen Charchyan. This was reported to Armenian News-NEWS.am by the Office of the Prosecutor General of Armenia.
On February 9, the National Assembly gave its consent—by secret ballot—to launch criminal proceedings against opposition lawmaker and former director of Izmirlian Medical Center of Yerevan, Armen Charchyan.
Charchyan is accused of giving a false medical conclusion in the case of the late Artur Sargsyan, better known as "the bread bringer."
Charchyan is included in another criminal case, too, where he is accused of manipulating voters.
The court sessions in the criminal case against him are in progress.
