After the start of the conflict in Ukraine and the accompanying crisis, many representatives of the IT sphere and other specialists moved to Armenia. The number of returnees during the active period amounted to hundreds of thousands of people. However, according to experts, the former rate has recently fallen. 

Russian relocates also work mainly in the IT sphere, but some of them also work in other sectors.

According to Gagik Makaryan, chairman of the Republican Union of Employers of Armenia, the newcomers from Russia partially work in engineering and partially in services.

The expert told NEWS.am that some of the newcomers have tried to work in catering, management improvement, creating their own services, providing services for creating automated databases (this partially overlaps with the IT sphere, but refers to a separate service area).

"Very few are involved in manufacturing processes," he said.

This is due to the fact that the crisis hit the representatives of the IT sector in Russia the hardest, which prompted the representatives of this very sector to move, including to Armenia.

"In other spheres there is no serious increase in the dynamics of the inflow of Russian personnel. There may only be isolated cases," Makaryan stressed.
