Armenia and Turkey have reached an agreement to intensify the work on opening the Armenian-Turkish land border for citizens of third countries, Turkey’s special representative for normalization of relations with Armenia, Serdar Kilic, told Armenpress when asked on the agreement.

“Regarding the opening of the border for citizens of third countries, our [foreign] minister [also] mentioned in his speech that an agreement has been reached to give new momentum to the work around this issue. The two [foreign] ministers have agreed, we will do everything possible to be able to operate the Margara bridge [between the Armenia-Turkey border] in a short period of time, swiftly,” Kilic said after the Armenian and Turkish foreign ministers’ meeting in Ankara.

Also, Kilic expressed confidence that the recent steps will have a positive effect on the process of normalizing Armenia-Turkey relations in the near future.
