Russia has requested a UN Security Council meeting after receiving new information on the undermining of the Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2 pipelines, First Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the UN Dmitry Polyanskiy said in a Telegram channel.

"In light of new information regarding the undermining of the Nord Stream pipeline strings, we have requested a meeting of the UN Security Council for 3 p.m. New York (11 p.m. Moscow time) on February 22," the diplomat wrote.

Last week, US Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Seymour Hersh published an article about his investigation of the gas pipeline bombings. He said the U.S., with help from NATO allies, had carried out the attack on the Nord Streams.
