What is the reason that Armenia’s first humanitarian aid to Turkey was 100 tons, the second has not been published yet, and the first aid to Syria was 30 tons, and the second—25 tons—after the earthquake? Reporters asked this question to Armen Pambukhchyan, the Minister of Emergency Situations, after Thursday’s Cabinet meeting of the Armenian government.

"It depends on the needs. A total of about 180 tons of cargo was sent [from Armenia] to the two countries. Our rescuers in Syria have finished their work. They have finished in Turkey as well; that's why they have returned," Pambukhchyan responded.

Asked whether Turkey will change its aggressive policy towards Armenia after these humanitarian aid it has received from Armenia, the minister of emergencies responded: "We are carrying out our humanitarian functions, and I cannot answer about the rest."

And to the question whether Armenia has allocated humanitarian aid to Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) recently and if so, how much, Pambukhchyan answered: "An additional 4 billion drams [(approx. US$ 10 million)] were allocated to Artsakh a month ago, if I'm not mistaken. The Ministry of Finance will say that number more accurately. Humanitarian aid was not sent to Artsakh in terms of the MES [(Ministry of Emergency Situations)]. I don't know about the rest."
