Dmitry Peskov, the spokesperson of the Russian president, stated that the words by US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs Victoria Nuland regarding Crimea emphasize the depth of the Russian-American disagreements, Interfax reports.
"Nuland belongs to a very large group of the most aggressive ‘hawks’ in American politics; this is such a popular view. It once again emphasizes the depth of our disagreements," Peskov said during an interview with on a TV channel, commenting on Nuland's statements that Crimea is a legitimate military target for Kyiv, and the United States supports strikes against this territory.
Peskov noted: "This once again emphasizes the role of the USA as the main instigator of the existing international tension."
