Governor Robert Ghukasyan of Armenia’s Syunik Province on Saturday welcomed and accompanied Kimmo Kiljunen (Finland) and Boriana Aberg (Sweden)—Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe PACE co-rapporteurs for the monitoring of obligations and commitments by Armenia—who arrived in Syunik on a fact-finding mission, the Syunik provincial hall reports.
The co-rapporteurs met with the Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) residents who have taken refuge in Syunik due to the closure of the Berdzor (Lachin) road by Azerbaijan.
Kiljunen told them that they are here on a fact-finding mission to find out what is really happening on the Armenia-Artsakh border, adding that they want to listen to them, and understand their feelings in order to present them in their reports.
Also, the PACE representatives visited the checkpoint on the road connecting Armenia to Artsakh and recorded the closure of this motorway.
