Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan of Armenia had met with president Odile Renaud-Basso of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), within the framework of the Munich Security Conference, the PM's press service reports.
The Prime Minister noted that the EBRD programs are of great importance to the reforms initiated by the Armenian government in terms of improving the business environment, promoting the competitiveness of the private sector, developing capital markets, urban lighting, and some other domains in Armenia.
The head of the Armenian executive branch of power expressed hope that in the future the amount of investments carried out by the EBRD in Armenia will increase and will engage the most diverse sectors of the country’s economy.
Pashinyan highlighted the implementation of programs by the EBRD for small and medium-sized businesses in Armenia, and added that the objective of the Armenian government is to give new momentum to the development and intensification of the country’s business sector.
Renaud-Basso, in turn, stressed that the EBRD is ready to continue and expand its assistance to the Armenian government in the programs planned in various domains.
Also, PM Pashinyan had a meeting with Michael Harms, Executive Director of the German Committee on Eastern European Economic Relations.
They discussed bilateral economic cooperation and expansion of business ties.
