The head of the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD) of Turkey announced the end of search and rescue operations in some parts of  the country’s earthquake disaster zone.

AFAD head Yunus Sezer said that except for Kahramanaras and Hatay Provinces, search and rescue operations in other places of the disaster zone have come to an end, Milliyet reported.

On February 6, two earthquakes measuring magnitude 7.7 and 7.6, respectively, were recorded in Kahramanaras Province, as a result of which more than 40 thousand people have lost their lives in Turkey.
