U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said that Washington will provide about $10 billion in additional economic aid to Kiev in the coming months. She said this during a press conference in Bangalore, India, reports the New York Times.

She noted that it is extremely important that the International Monetary Fund began work on the program of financing Ukraine.

Yellen also called the Ukrainian crisis the main factor currently shaping the global economy.

During the same speech, Yellen said that the United States continues to work with its allies to tighten sanctions against the Russian Federation.
