Russia has repeatedly provided a platform for the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia to hold a meeting on the matter of a peace treaty. Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated this on Tuesday at his joint news conference with Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, in Azerbaijani capital Baku.
"In December of last year, there was an agreement to hold another meeting of our colleagues in the territory of Russia, but our Armenian colleagues said that they could not participate in that event. We reaffirmed our readiness to provide opportunities for such meetings to continue. The Azerbaijani side is ready for it. The Armenian side has said that it does not object either, but has not yet given a final agreement. I don't think that we will persistently offer our services," Lavrov emphasized.
