The new US ambassador to Armenia, Kristina Kvien, appealed to Armenia with a video posted by the US Embassy on Facebook.

The ambassador said that she was born in California, a state known for the center of innovative technologies in Silicon Valley, national parks, and a large Armenian population.

Kvien said she grew up in Fresno, where she was lucky to have Armenian American teachers and friends, had the opportunity to get in touch with the elegant Armenian culture and colorful cuisine, and now, by coming to Armenia, it seems like she has returned home.

According to the US ambassador, it was at an early age that she learned about the painful pages of the history of the Armenian people, particularly the Armenian Genocide, and she immediately visited the Armenian Genocide Memorial after arriving in Yerevan to pay her respects to the victims of this tragedy.

Kvien said she familiar with the centuries-old rich history and cultural heritage of Armenia, and she admires the incredible endurance of the Armenian people.

The diplomat said she wants to fully discover Armenia and get to know the Armenian people.

The new US ambassador to Armenia said she knows that the last years have been full of challenges, she had already had the opportunity to personally hear from displaced persons in Armenia about their difficulties, and she pledged to do everything possible for a lasting solution to the conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan and the normalization of Armenian-Turkish relations.

Kristina Kvien noted that Armenia deserves to live in peaceful and safe conditions and pursue the economic and political path it has chosen, the Armenian-American relations are strong, and she will spare no effort to strengthen their ties and help Armenia build a bright and prosperous future.
