Last month, after the meeting of the leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia in Munich, US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken instructed me about my visit to the region, said Senior Advisor for Caucasus Negotiations (SACN) of U.S. State Department Louis Bono, who is on a visit to Azerbaijani capital Baku on Monday, APA reports.

Bono noted that his main goal is to achieve peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia.

“Peace is beneficial for both sides. In Munich, the parties declared that they wanted peace. Our goal is to come to his point. I will have a meeting in Yerevan tomorrow. The purpose of my visit is to encourage the sides to the dialogue, and to the meeting as soon as possible,” stressed the US diplomat.

Bono was received by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev today.
