Republican People's Party (CHP) leader Kemal Kilicdaroglu was announced as the joint presidential candidate of the opposition People's Alliance in the general elections scheduled for May 14 in Turkey.
Kilicdaroglu will compete against the candidate of the ruling Republican Alliance, incumbent President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, reports RIA Novosti.
Temel Karamollaoglu, Chairman of the Felicity Party, announced the name of Kilicdaroglu as the aforesaid opposition bloc’s joint candidate.
The respective meeting of this opposition bloc—known as the table of sixth—took place at the headquarters of the Felicity Party, after which the announcement of the name of the joint candidate of this opposition bloc was expected.
