A meeting was held Tuesday between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, and Mikhail Shvidkoy, the Special Representative for International Cultural Cooperation of Russia, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Azerbaijan informed.
“Issues of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Russia in humanitarian and cultural spheres and regional humanitarian projects were discussed at the meeting.
“Minister Jeyhun Bayramov gave detailed information about Azerbaijan's peace-building efforts and reconstruction works in the region during the post-conflict period. It has been emphasized that the increased provocations of the Armenian side, the difficulties it created in the negotiations on the peace treaty, and the steps aimed at aggravating the situation in the region are hindering peace.
“Special Representative Mikhail Shvidkoy said that Azerbaijan is a place of multiculturalism, specifically noting the importance of international forums held in Azerbaijan, and that they were ready to implement joint programs in culture and humanitarian spheres.
“During the meeting, there was an exchange of views on other bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest,” the Azerbaijan MFA added.
