At least six people were killed and seven others were injured after a shooting in Hamburg, Germany, Western media reported on Friday night.

The city police, for their part, warned on Twitter that a shooting took place in the Alsterdorf  district, and said "an extensive police operation is currently underway."

According to preliminary data, the incident took place in the center of the Jehovah's Witnesses organization.

According to RTL television, the Hamburg police believe that the gunman in this center of Jehovah's Witnesses committed suicide. When the police entered the building, they heard a shot on the upper floors and soon found the dead body of the shooting suspect, RTL added.
