YEREVAN. – A group of activists held a protest march against involvement of foreign military units and flags in celebrations of the Independence Day on Wednesday.

The action was scheduled for 9 am but started with a delay. The activists gathered near one of the monuments in the center of Armenia’s capital, the Armenian News-NEWS.am correspondent reports. However, policemen urged the activists to stop the march.

Later policemen picked the posters prepared by the protesters who tried to march without them. However, policemen took two activists to the police department.

As Armenian News-NEWS.am reported earlier, a group of Facebook users will hold a protest march against involvement of foreign military units and flags in celebrations of the Independence Day on September 21.

Note that military units of Russian 102 base will participate in parade on the occasion of 20th anniversary of Armenia’s Independence.
