The European Union (EU) has transferred the next tranche of 1.5 billion euros to Ukraine within the framework of macro-financial assistance, the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, informed on Tuesday.

"Today we disbursed another €1.5 billion to Ukraine," she tweeted.

Von der Leyen noted that the EU thus “helps keep Ukraine running, while defending itself.”

This, according to her, “puts Ukraine firmly on its EU path by supporting reforms - good governance and financial stability.”
