The ruling majority "Civil Contract" Faction of the National Assembly has nominated Deputy Prosecutor General Anahit Manasyan as its candidate for Human Rights Defender of Armenia.

The information was confirmed by the head of the faction, Hayk Konjoryan, in an interview with reporters in the parliament.

Konjoryan said that after January 23, when Kristinne Grigoryan submitted her resignation from the aforesaid position, they carefully considered various candidates and tried to find the best candidate.

"We consider that Anahit Manasyan, with her professional abilities, system of values, and experience, is the candidate who can be a human rights defender," said Hayk Konjoryan.
