Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan called Israeli President Isaac Herzog on Saturday to voice his concern in wake of escalating tensions in Jerusalem and the West Bank over the past week, The Times of Israel reports.

According to Herzog’s office, the conversation took place on the initiative of the Turkish side.

In particular, Erdoğan expressed condolences to the people of Israel in connection with individual attacks on Friday in the West Bank, Israeli media outlet informs.
