The United States is deeply concerned that Azerbaijan's installation of a checkpoint in the Lachin corridor undermines efforts to establish confidence in the peace process. U.S. Ambassador to the OSCE Michael Carpenter wrote this on Twitter.

"We reiterate that passage through the Lachin corridor must be free for people and goods, and we call on all sides to return to peaceful negotiations and refrain from provocations and hostilities along the border," he wrote.
