Human Rights Defender (ombudsperson) Anahit Manasyan on Wednesday received Finnish Ambassador to Armenia Kirsti Narinen—whose respective diplomatic residence is in Stockholm—and honorary consul of Finland in Armenia, Tim Straight, the Human Rights Defender’s Office informs Armenian News-NEWS.am.

The Defender presented the matters related to the protection of the rights of the residents of Armenia’s border settlements and the problems caused by the ongoing blockade of the Lachin corridor by Azerbaijan.

Also, Manasyan reflected on the priorities of the activities of the Human Rights Defender of Armenia.

For her part, Ambassador Narinen lauded the work being carried out towards human rights protection in Armenia. Also, she presented the programs launched by Finland in Armenia.

During the meeting, the parties agreed to continue close contacts.
