As eyewitnesses told AFP, shelling and clashes resumed in Khartoum, capital of Sudan, on Sunday after the end of a 24-hour truce that gave civilians a rare respite after nearly two months of war.
The latest in a series of ceasefire agreements allowed the civilian population trapped in Khartoum to leave their homes and stock up on food and other necessities.
But just 10 minutes after the end of the truce at 06:00 local time on Sunday, the capital saw shelling and clashes resume, eyewitnesses said.
The 24-hour ceasefire that ended Sunday morning was negotiated by US and Saudi Arabian mediators.
The deadly fighting has erupted across the country since mid-April.
