By the decision of the Armenian government, a working group has created for the purpose of developing the development strategy of Gyumri, the second-largest city of Armenia. The respective decision has been posted on the official website of the government.

The working group consists of ten members, and Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan is the chairman of the group.

To note, Grigoryan is a member of the Armenian-Russian-Azerbaijani working group on unblocking regional transport communications.

In the context of unblocking regional communications and normalizing Armenia’s relations with Turkey, the matter of reopening of the Gyumri-Kars railway is often raised, the reconstruction of the Armenian section of which will cost about $17 million.
