According to our forecasts, economic growth will be 6.9 percent in Armenia this year. The governor of the Central Bank of Armenia (CBA), Martin Galstyan, announced this at the press conference held in the CBA Tuesday.

"We have increased our growth forecast by 1 percent, mainly due to more progressive developments in the construction and service sectors," Galstyan said.

As for inflation, it will be somewhat below the target during the year.

"That is, if our target is 4 percent, we predict that it will be lower. During these recent developments, we see that the prices of imported food products [in Armenia] are falling much more sharply than we were previously predicting. But there is also a significant part of unregulated services, which continues to remain at a higher level than our inflation target," added the CBA chief.
